The Book & The Author

Clean Hands, Bright Future: A Youth Guide to Avoiding Financial Crime in Africa was published in May 2026 and endorsed by the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria. It breaks down more than 100 forms of financial crime — fraud, cybercrime, identity theft, examination malpractice and more — into language secondary school students can actually use, backed by illustrations and everyday examples rather than legal jargon.

The book was written by Adedayo Aluko, who set out to intervene early on youth involvement in financial crime through education rather than punishment. His central argument is straightforward: many young people fall into crime unknowingly, and understanding what counts as an offence is often the first line of defence. Copies of the book are now reaching public secondary schools across Lagos State as part of an ongoing donation drive, paired with follow-up talks on integrity and responsible citizenship.
